Step 4: Installing the Irrigation Components
Assembly Green Divider Electrical
Overview
While not terribly difficult to set up, the irrigation requires connecting a lot of individually sized tubing in a precise order. For this reason, we highly recommend watching the Assembly Video for the complete visual breakdown. This guide will assume Steps 1-3 of the Assembly Instructions have already been completed.
Components Required
- Threaded irrigation coupling - qty 1

Connecting the Irrigation Components
Step 1 — Connecting the Irrigation Tubing to the Tank
- Grab (1) threaded irrigation coupling. Screw it into the small hole on top of the tank lid.
- Connect tube A to the weighted filter. Connect the other side of tube A to the exposed threaded coupling on the underside of the lid.
- Place the lid on the tank, cap side on the right when facing the Green Divider.
- Connect tube B to the threaded coupling on the top of the tank lid.
- Snap the 5-way-connecter to the connector insert. With the end of the connector pointed to the right, connect tube C to the first coupling of the 5-way-connector.
- Connect tube D to the second coupling.
- Connect tube E to the third coupling.
- Connect tube F to the fourth coupling.
- Connect the end of tube B to the fifth coupling.
Step 2 — Connecting the Irrigation Tubing inside the ILCU Cage
- Lift the ILCU Cage and rest it on top of the tank.
- Snap the 5-way insert into the opening on the ILCU cage.
- Connect the long tubes, one at a time, to the input side (left side) of the pumps.
- Tube C connects to Pump 1
- Tube D connects to Pump 2
- Tube E connects to Pump 3
- Tube F connects to Pump 4.
- Connect (4) pieces of Tube G to the output side (right side) of all four pumps. Connect to the four threaded couplings attached to the ILCU Cage.
- Connect (4) pieces of Tube H to the (4) open ends of the couplings on the ILCU Cage.
- Put the ILCU Cage back into the box, nested behind the stainless steel tank.
- Attach Check Valves 1-4 to the open ends of Tube H. Place the Check Valves in numerical order, 1 through 4 left to right.
- *IMPORTANT* Ensure the arrow on the check valve is pointing up, towards the back of the unit and away from the ILCU Cage. The Check Valves are one directional and need to be pointed the direction that the water is intended to flow to operate correctly.
Step 3 — Running the Irrigation Tubing into the Boxes
- Connect the longer pieces of tubing to the ends of the Check Valves.
- Tube I connects to Check Valve #1
- Tube J connects to Check Valve #2
- Tube K connects to Check Valve #3
- Tube L connects to Check Valve #4
- Thread all (4) tubes through the four holes of the Tube Organizer. Thread the tubes into and away from the lip of the Tube Organizer.
- Once the (4) tubes have been threaded through the Tube Organizer, thread them through the larger bottom hole inside of the box, out of the back of the unit.
- Push the Tube Organizer fully into the hole, then pull the irrigation tubes fully through to remove slack.
- Insert the tubing through the holes in the back channel, then pull the tubing through to remove slack. Do not put strain on the tubing--if it begins to stretch at any point, you have pulled it too tight. Each tube length will line up with a hole at a different height at the back of the channel. Organize the tubing through the back channel as you go to ensure it does not bunch up.
Step 4 — Final Steps
- Take one of the Wooden Boxes with a strip removed from the base. Place it inside the top right bracket of the Metal Frame. Place the second Wooden Box with the open strip on the base into the top left bracket.
- Place the remaining two Wooden Boxes (which will have no open strips) on the bottom two brackets.
- Place the (4) Planter Inserts into the (4) Wooden Boxes.
- (Optional) If you have Sub-Irrigation Inserts, place them inside the planter boxes. The feed tube should sit towards the back of the unit, closest to the back channel of the Metal Frame. Connect the irrigation tubes to the feed tube.
- (Optional) For a more secure fit, you can screw the Wooden Boxes into the Metal Frame. Screw (4) M4x14 into the underside of the frame brackets.
- Add water to the Stainless Steel Tank. You should fill up at least 1 gallon for testing.
- Screw the Tank Lid into the lid of the Stainless Steel Tank.
- Place the Wooden Box Lid.
- Use (5) 10-24 1/2" Screws to secure the Back Plate to the back of the channel on the Metal Frame. Make sure all irrigation tubes and wires are clear from the channel and the Back Plate sits flush in the frame. If the Back Plate is not sitting flush near the bottom of the channel, use a rubber mallet to lightly hammer the Back Plate into the channel.
The assembly portion of the Green Divider is now complete. To finish the process, continue to set up the Green Divider in the App. Note that the App should be set up by someone that will be maintaining the Green Divider, as they will be administering the account.
