Biotic Instruments — Control

XYLA
Relay

Two independently configurable power relays in a single compact unit. Built for custom plant installations — pairs with PhytoSensors for a fully autonomous system.

  • Two independently configurable relay channels — pump or light
  • Standard NEMA 5-15R outputs, IEC 320-C14 input
  • Wi-Fi cloud and Bluetooth local control via Biotic OS

Why the XYLA Relay

Built for custom
installations.

Dual-Channel Control

Each of the two outputs can independently control a pump or a light on its own timer. Mix irrigation and lighting in a single unit, or run two separate irrigation zones.

Compact & Concealed

At 250mm × 75mm × 92mm, the XYLA Relay is designed to disappear — mount it behind a planter, inside millwork, or anywhere else out of sight.

Biotic OS Connected

Full remote control from the Biotic OS companion app: per-channel timers, manual push-button triggers, alerts, and a complete activity log.

PhytoSensor Ready

Pair with Biotic Instruments PhytoSensors to create a true autonomous system. Sensors measure plant metabolism and trigger watering only when plants need it.

Channel Configuration

Two channels.
One device.

The XYLA Relay's two outputs are independently configurable. Each can control either an irrigation pump or a grow light on its own schedule — enabling dual irrigation zones, dual lighting circuits, or a mix of both from a single compact unit.

Channel 1

Irrigation

Connect any 120VAC submersible or inline pump. Schedule watering intervals down to the minute via the Biotic OS app, or automate entirely with a PhytoSensor.

Configurable: pump or light

Channel 2

Lighting

Drive any standard 120VAC grow light or supplemental lighting fixture. Independent timers mean lighting and irrigation can run on entirely separate schedules.

Configurable: pump or light

Hardware

Built to
disappear.

The XYLA Relay is engineered around a compact, low-profile PCB with dual relay channels, onboard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and sensor input support — all in a form factor small enough to disappear into almost any installation.

ETL and FCC certified. Built to run continuously, unattended, for years.

ZeroManual watering

Connect a PhytoSensor to any channel and the relay fires only when soil conditions require it — no guesswork, no over-watering.

2 zonesIndependent control

Both channels accept their own sensor inputs. Different plants, different schedules, different thresholds — all running from a single device.

↑ Plant healthLong-term vitality

Sensor-driven watering eliminates the dry pockets and over-saturation that cause plant loss. Plants receive precisely what they need, when they need it.

PhytoSensor Integration

Fully
automated.

Pair the XYLA Relay with Biotic Instruments PhytoSensors and the system waters your plants without human input. Set your thresholds, walk away.
