Installing the Irrigation Components

This step involves connecting many individually sized tubes in a precise order. Watching the assembly video before starting is strongly recommended — the visual breakdown is especially helpful here.

Screw the threaded irrigation coupling into the small hole on top of the tank lid.

Connect Tube A to the weighted filter. Connect the other end of Tube A to the exposed threaded coupling on the underside of the lid.

Place the lid on the tank with the cap side on the right when facing the Green Divider. Connect Tube B to the threaded coupling on the top of the tank lid.

Snap the 5-way connector to the connector insert with the end of the connector pointed to the right. Connect the tubes to the five couplings in order:

Lift the ILCU Cage and rest it on top of the tank. Snap the 5-way insert into the opening on the ILCU Cage.

Connect the long tubes to the input (left) side of the pumps:

Connect (4) pieces of Tube G to the output (right) side of all four pumps, then connect them to the four threaded couplings on the ILCU Cage. Connect (4) pieces of Tube H to the four open ends of those couplings.

Place the ILCU Cage back into the box, nested behind the stainless steel tank. Attach Check Valves 1–4 to the open ends of Tube H, in order left to right.

Connect the longer tubes to the open ends of the check valves:

Thread all four tubes through the four holes of the Tube Organizer, feeding the tubes into and away from the lip. Thread the tubes through the larger bottom hole inside the box and out through the back of the unit. Push the Tube Organizer fully into the hole, then pull the irrigation tubes fully through to remove slack.

Insert the tubing through the holes in the back channel and pull through to remove slack. Each tube length will line up with a hole at a different height in the back channel. Organize the tubing as you go to prevent bunching.

Place the two Wooden Boxes with a strip removed from the base into the top right and top left brackets of the frame. Place the two remaining Wooden Boxes (no open strips) on the bottom two brackets.

Place the (4) Planter Inserts into the four Wooden Boxes.

Optional: If using Sub-Irrigation Mats, place them inside the planter boxes with the feed tube toward the back of the unit, closest to the back channel of the frame. Connect the irrigation tubes to the feed tube. For a more secure fit, screw the Wooden Boxes into the frame using (4) M4×14 screws per box through the underside of the frame brackets.

Add at least 1 gallon of water to the stainless steel tank. Screw the Tank Lid onto the tank, then place the Wooden Box Lid.

Use (5) 10-24 ½" screws to secure the Back Plate to the back of the channel on the frame. Ensure all irrigation tubes and wires are clear of the channel and that the Back Plate sits flush. If the Back Plate is not sitting flush near the bottom, use a rubber mallet to lightly tap it into the channel.
